It
was a nice day to be out for the annual mental health Artworks Exhibition at the Gosford Regional Gallery in East Gosford. It wasn't
that long ago that I could easily walk to the gallery in about five
minutes, having lived in that suburb for 16.5 years. Last Saturday it
was a half hour drive from Woy Woy. Indeed, some of my entries for
previous exhibitions were taken on walks around the gallery.
I did submit a piece this year, a framed photograph called Even Bluetongues Get the Blues. It was of my seasonal visitor, a lizard that I've called Dorothy. As you can see by this shot she wasn't pleased to be stuck under the house with all this water about.

Thankfully,
the Top Point Cafe was opened once again for business, having
undergone renovations a couple of months ago. Whilst the rest of the
group was opting for some afternoon tea and a hot beverage, I was
keen to have a burger seeing I hadn't had lunch yet. With Friday
having been a busy day, I was quite happy to sit down, have a chat
and a bite to eat.
The
Southern Style Chicken Burger was served a small basket of chips on a
wooden plate. I should've let it cool down a bit – it was piping
hot. Once the lips and tongue had been soothed with a cool beverage,
I tried again and discovered that the crumbed chicken was rather
tasty, as indeed was the rest of the burger. Having been rather
hungry, I completely polished off the burger and chips and was rather
pleased with myself.
There's
always plenty to see at the gallery. If you're not into the
exhibitions, then there's always the Japanese Gardens to leisurely
walk around, or for a longer walk, you can walk through the woods,
look at the birds and admire nearby Caroline Bay. There's even a
nearby park where the kids can burn off some excess energy. Even by
public transport, several bus routes run along the main strip with
the gallery and adjoining parks being just two blocks down the
adjoining streets.
